SENIORS' COLLEGE PRESENTATION
This assignment was assigned to us recently to help educate the younger HORIZON classes about COLLEGE&FASFA. The seniors are split into four groups to cover topics of CCC, CSU, UC, and FASFA. Our group of 4 which included Nancy, Irene, Amy, & myself focused on the CalSates. We presented our prezi to the freshmen and sophomore class and included a fun little activity of bingo with prizes. I really enjoyed this project because I discovered new ideas and information I never knew. I had fun working with my group members and met new students. |

Tutorial Sessions happen every Tuesdays & Thursdays of every week.
The day before the actual tutorial day, Students complete the first part at home . We write questions that we are having trouble with while we complete our homework, and starting the question off with "HOW?"
On the actual day of tutorials, we form our own study groups based on our subjects. We're given white boards and markers, where we write our questions down. We talk among ourselves to figure out the answer. After the discussion, we write each others' questions on the back of our own tutorial forms in cornell note style.
We end tutorials with our summaries with two short paragraphs on "WHAT I LEARNED?" and "HOW I LEARNED IT?"
Tutorials give HORIZONS' students the opportunity to get extra help from classmates and teachers. Instead of just asking for the answer, students discuss the problem and try to solve them together.
